As you drive by Waldorf West, you'll see most of the outside of the building is nearing completion, complete with native trees and landscaping. However, we still have the inside to complete---our winter project.

If you drive past the construction site this week, you'll notice the blue roof, thus the term "under roof".

The building is now at 55% completion.
For the next few months, digging, trenching, and infrastructure are in progress.
Phone, data, electricity, water---all the elements that are needed to get a building totally enclosed.
Thank you to all of the construction workers who have been battling the summer heat index.

The skylight is going in this week and nearing completion. We are now at the 34% progress mark.
It was impressive to see the skylight go in, one glass pane at a time. A butterfly flew up and rested on
one of the beams.

We're now at 10% completion.
The weather has been cooperating. The foundation is in.
One of the most important parts of the building was delivering the steel.
The steel is fabricated off site and then brought to the buidling. Putting the steel in place where it
needs to be located is called "swinging the steel". Enjoy the photos---after the foundation, it's all
about the steel---soon we will be seeing the shell of the building.

Progess Date: February 14, 2011
We broke ground for the Waldorf West branch on September 1, 2010.
As of February 14th, we are at 5% completion of the project.
Prior to February 14th, we had snow, ice, sleet, mud, and slush.
I take photos each week of the same three angles.
"A" is from the work trailer (and actually what will end up being the front of the building)
"B" is the street side of the building (and where the meeting rooms will be)
"C" is the side of the building nearest to the Hilton Garden Inn
